Master William J. Spence - 7th degree Red/White/Red Belt!

I started training in the martial arts in 1970, then I became a student of GrandMaster Lanada in early 1978 during my first tour on Subic Naval base, Olongapo City Philippines. I received 1st degree black belt in late 1979 during the inauguration of the International Kuntaw Federation (IKF). I became the Secretary of the IKF at this time. I learned all the forms up through Agila from Great GrandMaster Lanada. I helped GGM arrange all the forms in a systematic style and these are used as the basis for forms study and were published in Great GrandMaster Lanada's Kuntaw book in 1995.
I married GrandMaster Lanada's eldest daughter, Maria Cristina Lanada, in 1989. We have 3 children, Christopher, Catherine, and Carl. I became the President of the IKF in 1998. Then, with the reorganization of the IKF in 2005, I became the Executive Director and the GrandMaster became the Chief Executive Director. Presently I am acting as Great GrandMaster's #1 Advisor.
